No Borders - art of integration

15-23 June

at Pionirfläche Otto, Haus der Statistik in Otto-Braun-Straße 70-72, 10178 Berlin Google maps

A Mensch Raum Land project - an encounter in the form of an educational trip that offers young people, influencers and aspiring professionals in youth and educational work a framework for reflection and encounter on the topic of current refugee work, wars and conflicts, Europe and its borders.

Artistic actions in public spaces in and around Haus der Statistik at Alexanderplatz.

Participants will be sensitised to the topic of border politics in Germany and also gain knowledge about human rights and the rights of minorities in the local region and Europe. To do this, they go on a search for clues through Berlin history, a formerly divided city that has encountered different experiences of migration and flight. Young people are thus given the opportunity to understand or better understand current socio-political developments.

The project is focused on an exchange of experiences among young participants engaged in youth, social or educational work related to migration (artists, social workers, group leaders, employees of youth welfare organisations, interns, activists). Additionally, approaches to action for (international) educational, peace and youth work will be developed, which the young participants will be able to apply in their local contexts. Further goals of the project include: opening new paths, broadening perspectives and worldviews, practising tolerance, gaining experience in various intercultural methods and games, sparking and expanding interest in other cultures, encouraging active participation of the participants in the development, design, and improvement of their living environments, promoting initiative and responsibility, fostering youth participation in work processes, teamwork, and excursions into living environments in other regions.
